A delightful little plant for the front of a sunny border, in a planter, as part of a rockery, or growing out of a wall. Zauschneria is a small sub shrub, 30cm tall by 45cm wide with small green hairy leaves which are set ablaze for weeks in summer when adorned by the scarlet red flower trumpets which appear in profusion. Holder of an RHS Award of Garden Merit, this plant is hardy throughout most of the UK, but would benefit from shelter or protection in the coldest winters in exposed gardens.
