Garden Centre Assistant – Part Time
Do you love plants and enjoy getting stuck into all sorts of tasks? We’re looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm to help keep our whole garden centre looking great and running smoothly. Every day is different, and there’s always something interesting to do.
About Us
We are a welcoming, independent garden centre that prides itself on great customer service & quality plants
About the Role
This is a part-time position (minimum 2 days per week), including some weekend working. Typical hours are 9.00am–5.00pm, with additional hours available.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers and offering helpful plant advice
- Keeping the shop and plant areas clean, tidy, and well-presented
- Restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
- Answering the telephone and taking messages
- Working outdoors: watering, cleaning, tidying, and rearranging plants (changes daily)
- Loading customer vehicles with compost, grit, pots, and other heavy items
- Opening/closing routines
- End-of-day cashing up
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in plants and gardening
- Friendly, confident communication skills
- Reliability and a can-do attitude
- Ability to lift heavy items when required
- Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons
