An excellent mat forming ground cover perennial, Veronica Georgia Blue, also known as Speedwell, features gorgeous mid blue flowers with white eye in spring, when it is liberally smothered in flowerheads, and then continues to flower sporadically throughout the rest of the summer. The flowers are attractive to pollinators generally, but the plant itself is disliked by grazing animals such as deer or rabbits. Growing 10 to 15cm high, it can spread up to half a metre but is not invasive or particularly fast growing. Great for underplanting, ground cover, rockeries, walls or pots, it prefers full sun, but will tolerate light shade in most well drained but moist soils. It is completely hardy and holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
