National Velvet is a strong-growing, tallish tulip. The outer tepals are deep maroon-red with a slight purplish bloom, paling a little towards the edges, with very dark midribs.The inside of the tepals is maroon with a yellow base. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade APPLICATION Ideal for bed and borders. Remove the flower heads as they begin to fade. Avoid planting repeatedly in the exact same location CULTIVATION Best lifted when the leaves fade. Clean and store untill autumn when they can be replanted.
