Traditional Shrub Rose 'Rosa gallica Officinalis'

An old shrub rose with a good medium scent from it's open cerise pink flowers which are very attractive to pollinators, Rosa gallica Officinalis is also known as the Apothecary's Rose due to the staying power of it's scent, and the Red Rose of Lancaster.  Forming a neat, almost thornless, bush 90cm by 90cm it is a useful shrub in the garden or a pot, or used as a low informal wildlife friendly hedge.  Suitable for any aspect in sun or partial shade, Rose de Rescht deserves a spot in any garden.  Tolerant of poorer soils but will always benefit from feeding during the growing season and a good mulch of organic matter in the autumn.
