Noted for it's rather unique flower colour, Syringa vulgaris 'Belle de Moscow' is a deciduous shrub with extremely attractive upright panicles of highly fragrant, double flowers in late spring. Opening from pinky/lilac buds, the double white flowers have a very pale pink blush, creating a highly attractive effect. Syringa will do well in any moist but well drained site in full sun or partial shade and is perfectly hardy. It also haolds an RHS Award of Garden Merit, and makes a very attractive small tree. Can eventually grow 4m tall, but tolerates hard pruning well.
