Prunus Hillieri SpireSold Out
One of the very best taller Cherry trees for restricted spaces width wise, Hillieri Spire is a cross discovered by the renowned Hillier nursery in the 1920's, probably between Prunus sargentii and Prunus yeodensis, and it forms the most wonderful narrow vase shape. Expect it to reach between 4 and 6 metres height in 10 years by 3 metres wide at the top. Hillieri Spire features dark pink buds in late winter which open to pale white flowers with shades of pink creating a gorgeous frothy appearance. In autumn the leaves also flare to lovely shades of vibrant purple and red. Tolerant of most soils and positions except very wet, but will do best in full sun.
