Potentilla fruticosa, the shrubby cinquefoil are deciduous shrubs of generally tidy habit, having small divided palmate leaves, and simple five petalled flowers in various colours.  Good for wildlife, potentilla is a great supporting act in either the herbaceous border or the shrubbery, giving colour throughout late spring and summer.

'Goldfinger' features pretty cup-shaped, large rich yellow flowers from late spring to mid-autumn. Max Height 1m. Max Spread 1.5m. Flowers May to July. Full Sun in any reasonable well drained but moist garden soil. Hardy. Back-fill with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.
