Potentilla fruticosa, the shrubby cinquefoil are deciduous shrubs of generally tidy habit, having small divided palmate leaves, and simple five petalled flowers in various colours. Good for wildlife, potentilla is a great supporting act in either the herbaceous border or the shrubbery, giving colour throughout late spring and summer.
