Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Tom Thumb'

An excellent choice if you are looking for something low maintenance, compact, eye catching and architectural, Pittosporum Tom Thumb forms a neat rounded ound c 75cm x 75cm of dense glossy folkiage.  In full sun it turns a striking dark purple, whereas in shade the leaf colour will have more tones of green in them.  Needs a sheltered site in good moist but well drained soil.  Great in containers, as part of a mixed border and works especially well in gravel gardens where it would make a good contrast with grasses, phormiums and other taller more linear plants.
