Penstemon are invaluable in the summer biorder with their brightly coloured funnel like spires of flowers, and their strappy , semi glossy long leaves. 'Flamingo' is a particularly attractive cultivar, having white flowers, suffused with rose pink, and white throats marked in deep carmine red. Grow in sun or partial shade on any well drained but fertile garden soil, and 'Flamingo' will reward you with flowers from early Summer until deep into Autumn. Eventual height and spread up to 100cm x 60cm. As with all penstemon refrain from cutting back last years foliage until the risk of the hardest frosts has passed.
