WHERE TO SOW
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or in a warm place and keep at a temperature of between 21-25°C (70-75°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 7-21 days.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 30cm (12") apart in well-drained soil in full sun.
MATURITY
June Onwards
HEIGHT
25cm (10")
HANDY TIP
The scent of Marigolds is thought to deter white fly, and plants are often placed with tomatoes where this is a problem.
