The large rounded clusters of rose pink flowers turn reddish purple as they age and appear from late summer through to early autumn. pruning is best left until late spring then the plant can be cut back quite hard to a good pair of buds on each stem. It's very hardy, holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and will grow in any decent moist but well drained soil.
