A medium to large sized variety of Hosta, 'Diamond Lake' has large heart shaped blue foliage which is extremely rippled around the edges and heavily corrugated, growing well in conditions from partial sun to almost full shade and bearing spires of pale lavender, lightly perfumed flowers in summer. Likes a reliably moist but well drained soil of any type and if conditions are perfect can mound to 60/70cm when mature. It's unusual, and something of a showstopper. A focal point, and a talking point, in any garden.
