These new generation Honeyberries have been specially bred specifically for fruit size and flavour. The large elliptical shaped berries are similar in colour and taste to blueberries, with a slight after taste of honey. The fruit is very high in antioxidants, loaded with flavour and retains flavour and form when frozen. Very hardy, drought resistant and easy to grow with the added benefit of being virtually pest and disease free. Unlike blueberries they don't require a specific soil condition, but they will fruit better if two different varieties are planted together. The fruiting season is late May to June, and they will grow to about 1.2 metres in height in a sunny position. Plant 1.5 metres apart. If pruning is necessary, do so just as the buds start to break in spring, but keep pruning to a minimum to get the highest fruit yield. 'Boreal Beauty' produces a heavy crop of large and zingy berries.
