Hemerocallis is known as the Daylily, as each magnificent flower lasts only a day before disappearing. However, the size and colour of the blooms, and the number an established plant will produce, make this a small issue. Day Lillies are easy to grow, being happy in most soil types and conditions. 'Buzz Bomb' can get to 70cm high and spread, and produces wonderfully spectacular orangey red flowers with a golden yellow throat, from June through to August. The leaves are evergreen and straplike. An established clump can be revived every few years by division.
