Hebe 'High Voltage' is a relative newcomer to the large Hebe family and is a fully hardy, evergreen shrub and so will tolerate extremes of cold and heat, making it therefore ideal to cope with the British climate. It features glossy green foliage with magenta tips and will produce a mass of plume-shaped long spikes of pale lilac and white flowers in abundance across the plant through spring and summer. Unlike a lot of evergreen shrubs, it has additional seasonal interest in autumn when the foliage takes on a more bronzed appearance. Suitable for all well-drained soil types, except for acidic soil, this shrub will grow in both a sunny location and some partial shade but ideally in a position sheltered from strong and cold winds. Works well in the garden and in containers. They require very little by way of pruning and maintenance but by removing spent flowers, it will encourage further blooms and prolong the flowering period. Trimming lightly and regularly after flowering, as with all hebe's, wiill help to keep the plant bushy and compact. The flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Likely height and spread of betwwn 50cm and 1m.
