Echinacea 'Purple Emperor'

Echinacea are wonderful perennial plants as their prominent central cones are magnets for bees and other pollinators.  Preferring moist but very well drained soil in full sun, they have erect clumps of dark green foliage.  'Purple Emperor' is a new variety which has large purple pink ray floret flowers with an orange brown cone, growing tp 60cm tall by 40cm wide.  Deadheading the spent flowers will encourage repeat flowering.
