A brilliant garden shrub, Harlow Carr features perfectly formed shallow cups of the clearest and purest mid pink, with a strong and pure Old Rose fragrance. A repeat flowerer, blooming from early summer into often late into the autumn, it makes a compact shrub just under a metre high and wide. It will work in all soil types and aspects, as long as it gets at least partial sunlight. A good rose for shady areas, as well as full sunlight, it will enhance any bed, grow well in a large pot and makes a great decorative low hedge. Introduced in 2004.
English shrub roses require less pruning and maintenance than many traditional roses, having a naturally shrubby growth, which just needs older and weak stems cutting out or reducing once a year.
