David Austin English Rose - 'Charles Darwin'
'Charles Darwin' features very full and rounded yellow, tending toward mustard, flowers when they first burst from the bud which later open to shallow cups. One of the very best roses for fragrance it has a strong and distinctive scent which varies between softly delicious lemon and soft floral Tea. A repeat flowerer making a sturdy shrub just over a metre high by almost a metre and a half wide it will work in all soil types and aspects, as long as it gets at least partial sunlight. A good rose for shady areas, as well as full sunlight, it will enhance any bed, grow well in a large pot and makes a great decorative low hedge. Introduced in 2003.
English shrub roses require less pruning and maintenance than many traditional roses, having a naturally shrubby growth, which just needs older and wek stems cutting out or reducing once a year.
