One of the very best conifers for providing vibrant all year round colour for pots, patios and rock gardens, Chamaecyparis 'Nana Lutea' features slow growing, dense shell like whorls of bright lemon green foliage, growing in a somewhat irregular fashion at first, but becoming more pyramidical over time. Very hardy it needs moist but well drained soil, preferably slightly acidic to neutral, in full sun or light shade, sheltered from drying east and north winds, which can cause scorching. May grow to round 1.5 metres by 0.5metres high and wide in 10 to 20 years, but can be lightly clipped with sharp shears in spring to shape and/or control, if required. Very low maintenance.
