California Lilac. Upright evergreen shrub with finely toothed, glossy, bright green leaves. Rich dark blue flowers in large panicles between April and June. Max Height 2m. Max Spread 2m. Requires a well drained soil and a sheltered sunny location to do best, but is fully hardy down to circa -15%. No regular pruning necessary, except to tidy up dead stems and restrict unwanted growth.
