Abelia 'Gold Jewel'
A rather lovely and tidy evergreen shrub. The foliage is almost pure gold for most of the year, but changes to coppery shades in late autumn and winter. In cold years the plant may be more semi evergeen, but except in expeosed locations it is perfectly hardy down to about -15%. In late summer to mid autumn, pretty little tubular flowers in shades of soft pink smother the ends of the branches. A tidy little shrub growing to only 90cm high and wide or so, untroubled by any particular pests or diseases and needing little routin maintenance. Prefers a sunny sheltered site in well drained but fertile soil.
