Phlox are an essential staple of the English country garden. Laura is an old favourite which will provide height to a border, growing between 75 and 100cm tall., and 50 to 75cm wide. Mounds of rich green narrow lance like foliage give rise to large panicles of highly fragrant lavender purple flowers with white markings at the centre between July and September. This variety is also highly resistant to mildew. Will grow well in sun or partial shade on any moist but well drained soil. Will tolerate wet soils more than dry ones. The flowers can be harvested and used as cut flowers indoors.
