Penstemon Sour Grapes
A large-leaved perennial with large tubular-shaped, pretty greyish blue flowers, suffused purple and green, rather like an unripe grape. Makes a lovely perennial for the middle of the border, as it doesn't require a lot of support, and the subtle colour makes it easy to pair with many other perennials in the blue, pnk, lilac mauve and white spectrum. Max Height 60cm. Max Spread 45cm. Flowers July to September. Full sun/partial shade. As with all penstemon do not cut back in spring until the frosty period has passed. Water thoroughly before planting.
