This variety of hosta has large variegated leaves, and over time makes a very impressive mound of foliage, perfect for lighting up shadier areas of the garden. The leaves are also a little thicker and leatherier than many other hostas, making them a little more resistant to slug and snail attacks. In maturity this plant can reach up to 70cm high by over a metre wide. The leaves are wavy and puckered with creamy centres, golden yellow as they emerge in spring, surrounded by broad, irregular, bluey green edges. In summer the plant is topped by spikes of pure white lily like flowers. Quite slow growing, but really worth the wait, as these plants are superb in a border setting, in pots, in a formal garden, a cottage garden, a woodland garden, or even as part of a Japanese themed, or tropical garden. They really are that versatile!
