Day lillies are so called because each bloom only lasts for 24 hours, but what they lack in permanence they certainly make up for in riotous colour. Hemerocallis 'Children's Festival' is an herbaceous perennnial which reaches approximately 50 -60cm in height when in flower. It forms clumps of arching, strap like, green leaves and large soft peachy rose coloured flowers with an apricot throat to in summer. This variety can spread up to 50cm or so in conditions it likes, generally moist but well drained soils of most types, in full sun or partial shade. It's very hardy and will benefit from splitting after 3 to 4 years.
