Ajuga 'Burgundy Glow' is a creeping and ground hugging, colourful perennial, great for suppressing weeds or as ground cover. The silvery green leaves are suffused with a pinky, burgundy colouring, and are also edged in cream, contrasting well with the short spikes of dark blue flowers which appear in spring. Growing 10 to 15cm high in almost any soil, in sun or partial shade, the only issue really is restricting it to the area you want it in, as it can trail along the ground popping down roots as it goes for up a metre and a half. Fairly simple to trim back though, and in fact you can easily produce more plants for your garden by doing so!
