Miss Kim is a small, deciduous shrub which is attractive to birds and butterflies. Bearing an abundance of showy lilac to ice blue, fragrant flowers in spring and early summer, it has a compact, upright, rounded form and can be massed, grouped or planted as a specimen in a small garden.
The buds are dark lavender-pink, before opening and allowing the delightful fragrance to permeate the air. In autumn the foliage takes on brilliant shades of reddish-purple, making it ideal for shrub borders, structure in a herbaceous border or even in a large patio pot. Miss Kim is a popular shrub which many people consider to be the best lilac available. Slow growing and hardy it can reach 2metres or so high and wide, but it takes it's time getting there. Any moist but well drained neutral to alkaline soil will suit it well.
