This is a medium growing saxifrage which will grow c 10cm x 20cm, featuring tiny bright green leaves formed in rosettes, topped in late spring/early summer by small single flowers on short stalks. The buds are red and tightly curled before opening, which is almost as attractive to behold as the flowering plant when they do open. The simple flowerheads can be dark red or pink. Excellent plant for pots, border edging, rockeries and cascading from a stone wall or terrace. Happy in most soils, in a coolish, partly shady location where the soil doesn't dry too quickly.
