We love alliums, both for their architectural use, and the way they attract pollinators, but this one is just a little bit special. The leaves remain bright green and sturdy even as the flowers form, unlike many, the rosy purple flowerheads are beautiful, and absolute pollinator magnets, and on top of it all it clumps nicely too, so after a while you can divide the clump and re plant some elsewhere. It just needs a moist but well drained soil and a sunny spot. It's perfectly hardy, grows 30cm to 50cm tall tops, and can be left in place over the winter and simply chopped to the ground in late winter. Easy and perfect.
