This is a compact variety of the ever popular 'Russian Sage'. A willowy and graceful sub shrub, Perovskia has silver grey aromatic stems and serrated edged oval silver green foliage. In August and September the spires, which get to c 60cm high are covered in masses of tiny vivid steelviolet blue flowers. Much loved by pollinators Russian Sage is a very useful addition to any mixed planting scheme. Particularly effective when planted en masse. Usually very hardy in a sunny position with well drained soil.
