Large round fragrant flower heads in abundance in late summer and autumn are the main feature of this superb flowering shrub, which grows 1.5m to 2.5 metres high and up to 2m wide. As the flowerheads can grow to as much as 30cm across they often droop on younger stems due to the weight, but as the bush matures they make an incredible show. The bush is very hardy and will reliably flower year after year even after a hard frost or when it has been hard pruned. Will grow best in a partially shaded area but will tolerate full sun or more shade, and will thrive in any decent moist but well drained soil.
