Dramatic spires of dark blue and white pea like flowers make this perennial lupin a cottage garden favourite. Grows c 190cm high and spreads 60cm, making it perfect for the centre of a sunny border. Lupins like a well drained, consistently moist soil, but dislike excessive winter wet, so best to plant slightly proud and mulch well in wetter areas. Deadheading the flower stalks after the first flush in June and July will encourage a second flush in September.
