This is a rather lovely form of Japanese sedge grass, having slender green leaves banded creamy white on the edges. It creates a low mound of foliage, c 50cm high, and is very useful at the edges of paths, in rockeries or as part of any mixed planting scheme. Works well in pots as well. it does flower, but the flowers are rather insignificant, and the plant is mainly grown for it's striking foliage. Will grow in full sun, but also thrives in a moist shady spot, where it will light up the surroundings.
