With it's cheerfully nodding blue bell shaped flowers, and finely cut green leaves on their twining stems,Clematis alpina 'Blue Dancer' brightens up any wall or fence facing in to all four points of the compass. Vigorous to about 2 or 3 metres, occasionally 4, this clematis attracts pollinators and requires little or no pruning. Will grow in sun or partial shade in most well drained but moist soils. If some pruning is required to keep in shape, then do so immediately after flowering, and when the risk of frosts has passed.
