An old rose variety which has been around for ever, and is perhaps overlooked sometimes in favour of newer, and probably inferior varieties, as it has a superb, strong scent, flowers continuously for months and is small and neat enough to adorn most gardens. Masses of fully double small to medium magenta pink pom pom like flowers from June to September over a shrub of grey green roughish foliage growing to c90cm x 60cm, Rose de Rescht will brighten any spot in a sunny site, and whilst it would prefer a rich deep soil, it is also quite toklerant of poorer ones.
