Malus 'Sun Rival' is one of the very best weeping crab apples with mid green leaves leaves adorning the pendulous, umbrella shaped frame. In spring tight red buds burst open to reveal pure white flowers, that are followed in autumn and winter with smallish bright red fruits. Height and spread after 10 years, 2 to 3 metres x 2 to 3 metres. Requires reasonably fertile moist but well drained soil in a sunny or semi shaded spot, and is a holder of an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
