A rather striking form of perennial geranium, 'Storm Cloud' can grow 60cm high by 40cm or so wide, so is great for underplanting shrubs or taller perennials with. The new foliage which emerges in spring is a startling cherry red colour, which slowly matures to a dark green with red edging along the leaves. The flowers, which bloom between the end of May and June are semi double in a very fetching shade of purple blue, and if cut back after flowering will give a second showing in September and October. Great for pollinators, and produces good leaf colour in the autumn. A beautiful addition to the border in sun or semi shade on any decent, moist but well drained soil.
