One of the best pink flowering varieties of this perennial cottage garden favourite, Astrantia 'Roma ' features tiny soft pink pincushion shaped flowers in May June and July. The deeply divided foliage is a lush dark green and the plant once established will grow to around 90cm tall by 60cm wide. Will thrive in any moist and humus rich soil, in full sun or partial shade, but will also tolerate drier conditions. An absolute bee and pollinator magnet, astrantias work best as part of a mixed herbaceous planting, but are also useful in pots and containers. Extremely hardy, prolong flowering through regular deadheading, but Roma is already one of the longest flowering varieties.
