Apparently Hebe Santa Monica has just about the deepest leaf colour of any hebe, starting out olive green, turning purple green in summer and deepening to a rich mahogany in the winter. Pink flowers in summer top out this shrubby mound forming plant, which when settled will reach 50 to 100cm high and wide. Likes a sunny and sheltered spot in any well drained soil.
