A hugely versatile plant, Anthemis nobilis, is a low growing, strongly aromatic and decorative perennial herb, which has medicinal uses as well as just being pretty. It is also the plant used when wishing to have a chamomile lawn rather than a standard grass one. Perfectly hardy it will thrive in any well drained soil in full sun or partial shade, adapting well to a south, west or east facing site. Grows to c 25cm tall by up to 500cm across and responds very well to regular cutting back - hence it's use for an alternative lawn. Daisy like flowers in profusion up to 1.5cm across in summer
