Lay of the Land cafe is not quite like any other Garden Centre cafe, the Coffee’s great and the food even better. The decor is light, bright and contemporary. We’re lucky enough to have the expertise most don’t, we aim to compete with the best eateries around, not just any run of the mill garden centre cafe.

The cafe / coffee shop is run by James. He trained as a Chef at Michelin stared Northcote Manor in Langho, working for their Ribble Valley Inns and The Lion in Settle amongst others before joining the family business in 2015. The cafe combines Jimmies passion for simple, hearty, locally sourced food with high quality coffee’s and teas.

Best Coffee in the Yorkshire Dales

(We’d like to think). We’ve gone a long way to make sure you have a great experience. All of our cafe staff have undertaken Barista training with Casa Espresso, who provide our artisan coffee roasted in Bradford from small batch producers. We’re pretty confident you would have to go a very long way to find a better coffee. Brew Tea Co provide our fantastic loose leaf teas so tea drinkers won’t be disappointed either.

Hearty Grub

Jimmie puts together a constantly evolving lunch and breakfast menu, sandwiches, soups, hot and cold meals all made to order. With freshly baked cakes & scones for those with a sweet tooth. Wherever possible Jimmie sources his ingredients from local suppliers, even growing a little bit ourselves (expanding this soon). cheeses come from The Courtyard Dairy, meat from The Blue Pig Company in Long Preston & bread from Seasons Bakery in Ingleton, amongst others.
